Peter Evans Extra brings together three of contemporary music’s most daring improvisers in a high‑velocity sonic pursuit that redefines the jazz trio. The band fuses Evans’s sculptural trumpet vocabulary with Petter Eldh’s hyperactive bass and Jim Black’s unpredictable rhythmic bursts, producing a kinetic, ever‑shifting soundscape where silence and noise collide. Their 2024 debut, EXTRA (We Jazz Records), was praised as one of the year’s best jazz records for its technical daring and anarchic spirit.

Dogfight is a musical set in 1960s America on the eve of young Marines’ departure for Vietnam. The plot follows Eddie Birdlace, whose cruel ‘dogfight’ gamble is upended when he meets Rose, an idealistic and sincere young woman. Over a single night, the production confronts themes of masculinity, violence and empathy, blending gritty social realism with moments of tenderness. Sparse staging and intimate musical numbers highlight a painful coming-of-age and the possibility of moral change.

Poussière de crotte dans le coeur d’une diva

Marlène Charpentié conjures a strange papier-mâché garden in this hybrid performance that mixes theatre, clown and dance. Three figures — an obsessed drag-king, a heartbroken diva vampire and a queer Pierrot who tends fading, reviving flowers — share the stage without words. Between absurd humour and a critique of capitalism, the piece plays out like a cracked cabaret where material is worked live: objects are handled, transformed and revealed in a visceral, intimate exchange with the audience.
