Victoria Hall is a prominent concert hall housed in a majestic neoclassical building. This historic venue is celebrated for its exceptional acoustics, making it a favored destination for music enthusiasts. While occasionally featuring other musical genres, Victoria Hall remains predominantly dedicated to the world of classical music.
Estelle Revaz will perform Johann Sebastian Bach’s Cello Suites No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3.
Led by conductor Laurent Zufferey, this gala illuminates the virtuosic voices of the laureates of the Geneva Junior Music Competition. Solo performances with the Sinfonia Valais‑Wallis move between intimate chamber colours and soaring, poetic climaxes. The programme balances technical brilliance with reflective lyricism, guided by the discerning presence of patron Stéphane Lambiel and a jury of Emmanuelle Bertrand, Svetlana Makarova, Raphaël Merlin and Christian Chamorel. The evening unfolds with concentrated intensity and radiant musical dialogue.
Led by Dee Dee Bridgewater (vocals), the Quartet — with Carmen Staaf (piano), Rosa Brunello (bass) and Shirazette Tinnin (drums) — presents the project “We Exist!”. The performance weaves expressive, elegant jazz that connects past and present through warm phrasing and incisive improvisation. The quartet’s interplay and subtle arrangements create an intimate, luminous atmosphere, shifting between tender balladry and buoyant swing. The result is a heartfelt, commanding musical journey that balances virtuosity with deep emotional warmth.
The Sunday Concerts at Victoria Hall feature “Coro” by Lucian Berio, performed by the students of the HEM, the Ensemble Contrechamps, and the Zürcher Sing-Akademie choir under the baton of Emilio Pomarico. This monumental work for 40 voices and orchestra redefines the orchestral setup and serves as both a political and musical manifesto, weaving together folk songs and poetic texts.
As part of the “Les Grands Interprètes” series, renowned pianist Martha Argerich and acclaimed violinist Renaud Capuçon will perform together. Their program features an exquisite selection, including Robert Schumann’s Violin Sonata No. 2 in D minor, Ludwig van Beethoven’s Violin Sonata No. 10 in G major, and César Franck’s Violin Sonata in A major.
The orchestra, led by Nicholas Collon, will perform at Victoria Hall, offering a captivating program. The evening features John Coolidge Adams’ “Short Ride in a Fast Machine,” Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” with pianist Hayato Sumino, and Stravinsky’s “The Rite of Spring,”. This promises to be a powerful musical experience.
