Victoria Hall is a prominent concert hall housed in a majestic neoclassical building. This historic venue is celebrated for its exceptional acoustics, making it a favored destination for music enthusiasts. While occasionally featuring other musical genres, Victoria Hall remains predominantly dedicated to the world of classical music.
To conclude the Haydn-Mozart Festival, Gli Angeli Genève will perform Haydn’s Stabat Mater at Victoria Hall under the baton of Václav Luks. The concert will also feature works by Jan Dismas Zelenka, including his Miserere in C minor. This event juxtaposes Zelenka’s innovative Baroque style with Haydn’s classical tradition, providing an insightful exploration of 18th-century musical evolution.
Presented by Philippe Béran, this fifth edition of L’OSR c’est vous! invites the audience into a sweeping musical journey across genres and eras. The Orchestre de la Suisse Romande blends symphonic works by Cécile Chaminade and Johannes Brahms with iconic film scores and popular repertoire ranging from Jurassic Park to Captain Marvel, Aladdin and the Rolling Stones. The programme highlights compositions old and new, including works by Sandrine Rudaz, and showcases orchestral textures and dynamic storytelling.
British vocalist Lucy Thomas joins pianist James Breckon in an intimate piano-and-voice recital that bridges classical crossover, pop and musical theatre. Thomas’s soaring timbre and theatrical phrasing reinterpret film themes and Broadway melodies alongside original songs, while Breckon’s sensitive accompaniment ranges from delicate pianissimos to rich, organ-tinged textures. The programme favors emotional clarity and lyrical storytelling; sparse lighting and nuanced pacing heighten moments of hush and catharsis, drawing listeners into a vividly cinematic soundworld.
Composed by Louis Crelier with a libretto by Valérie Letellier, Requiem ad Pacem is presented as a newly created oratorio led by conductor Antoine Marguier. The Orchestre des Nations joins Chœur Lyrica-Opéra and Chœur Pro-Arte de Lausanne, with Michel Voïta as récitant, to shape a ritual soundscape that balances solemn choral writing and intimate solo passages. The work meditates on mourning and the search for reconciliation, enveloping audiences in dense harmonies and austere, luminous textures.
Led by conductor Matthieu Schweyer, Orchestre Concertus presents Mozart’s Requiem with soloists Alida Barbasini (soprano), Mi‑Young Kim (mezzo‑soprano), Daniel Duri (tenor) and Seong‑Ho Han (bass). The performance balances intimate choral passages and thunderous orchestral climaxes, exploring grief, transcendence and ritual. Sparse orchestration and dramatic vocal lines are shaped with attention to dynamic contrast and vocal colour, creating a moving, cinematic soundworld that alternates between hushed prayer and overwhelming intensity.
Conceived as a tribute to Luciano Pavarotti, this opera gala reunites the Orchestra Filarmonica Pugliese under the baton of Plácido Domingo, with tenor Vittorio Grigolo and soprano Varduhi Khachatryan. The programme celebrates operatic lyricism and the golden-voiced tradition, alternating soaring arias and intimate duets. The focus is on vocal color, expressive phrasing and rich orchestral textures that frame dramatic peaks and quiet moments of nostalgia. The evening promises luminous virtuosity and deeply felt musical storytelling.
