Located within the EMA music school in the Plainpalais district, Le Chaudron is one of the school’s concert and recording venues. Throughout the year, it hosts a diverse array of concerts featuring contemporary artists spanning genres from jazz to metal. These performances are occasionally preceded by masterclasses conducted by the guest musicians, providing a unique opportunity for both students and the public to engage with accomplished professionals in an intimate setting.
Led by Cyril Moulas and Matthieu Llodra, this Apéropéra gathers students from the Pre‑Professional Programme and teachers from eMa to rework the music of Frank Zappa. The programme moves between inventive covers and original compositions, blending rock, jazz and theatrical unpredictability. A concise student set opens onto a fuller teachers’ project where tight ensemble playing, bold arrangements and moments of improvisation create a lively, exploratory atmosphere — intimate, electric and delightfully subversive.
Showcases the musical worlds of students enrolled in the standardized+ curriculum. Each performer presents a 15-minute set in solo, duo or group formats, offering a compact portrait of their repertoire and artistic approach. The programme gathers varied styles—from singer-songwriters to instrumentalists—and highlights emerging talents: Lina Ruegg (voice, piano), Tess Giordano (voice, guitar), Elia Portela (guitar), Macéo Von Wyss (drums) and Arno Albert (drums). A private debrief with an external expert follows the public performances.
Students from the eMa PréPro programme present the culmination of their training in a public certification concert, performing finished musical projects before an expert jury. The evening highlights stagecraft, instrumental technique and creative authorship, offering a glimpse of each artist’s artistic identity. Set pieces range from intimate singer‑songwriter numbers to energetic pop‑rock. Performances include Oliver Heyden, Alexis Da Silva and Léa Gamba (pop rock), revealing emerging talents and diverse approaches to live performance.
Students from the PréPro programme at eMa present their final musical projects to a public audience and a professional jury. This evening of concentrated performance highlights stagecraft, instrumental technique and creative development: short sets range from Concorde’s alternative rock to Matilde’s pop/Franco‑Italian repertoire, and a set by Paul Sculati. The concert offers a direct insight into each artist’s evolution, focusing on musical identity and live presence.
Presented as part of a two-night spotlight series, this concert brings together Louis Billette 6tet and Mohs with guests Fanny Martin and Arthur Hnatek. The programme explores contemporary jazz textures, blending warm acoustic phrasing, inventive improvisation and lyrical songs. The sextet’s subtle dynamics meet Mohs’s modern sensibility, with guest contributions adding vocal and instrumental colour. Expect intimate interplay, spontaneous dialogues and a refined, Franco‑Swiss musical conversation.
