Located within the EMA music school in the Plainpalais district, Le Chaudron is one of the school’s concert and recording venues. Throughout the year, it hosts a diverse array of concerts featuring contemporary artists spanning genres from jazz to metal. These performances are occasionally preceded by masterclasses conducted by the guest musicians, providing a unique opportunity for both students and the public to engage with accomplished professionals in an intimate setting.
Rock on Stage Classic is an event offering musicians of all skill levels the chance to perform on stage, guided by André Schmid, the former lead singer of the Geneva band Ça va chier. Participants can perform solo, with their own accompanists, or be supported by a team of professional musicians.
Jazz Night: Groove Party invites you to an evening where you take the stage. Saxophonist Léon Phal and his Geneva-based companions present a groove set infused with influences ranging from dub to French touch.
Led by pianist-composer Mélodie Gimard with dancer-choreographer Karen Lugo, Femmenco fuses flamenco, jazz and contemporary creation through an ensemble of five women: Gal Maestro (bass), Anna Colom (voice) and Nasrine Rahmani (percussion). Original compositions driven by feminine energy interweave with a bailaora’s expressive movements, creating dialogic exchanges between sound and body. The staging favours raw rhythmic intensity, intimate textures and luminous phrasing, transporting the audience into a warm, pulsating soundscape that rethinks flamenco’s contemporary voice.
Students from the saxophone, trumpet and flute classes take the stage, accompanied by their teachers and a lively rhythm section. The programme moves between classical, groove and jazz pieces, blending written arrangements and improvisation. Featured musicians Louis Billette (piano), Ewan Dayot (drums) and Zacharie Ksyk (double bass) provide a warm, swinging foundation. The atmosphere is convivial and celebratory, with moments of tenderness, playful surprises and communal energy that reveal young instrumentalists’ growing confidence.
Led by pianist-composer Andrew Audiger, this new trio with guitarist Théo Duboule and drummer Valentin Liechti blends acoustic and electric textures across jazz, folk and soft rock. Audiger’s fluid piano and synth lines weave with Duboule’s guitar and Liechti’s nuanced rhythms to create a suspended, nostalgic atmosphere. The programme highlights his boundary-free approach and compositional subtlety, balancing open improvisation with melodic clarity and intimate sonic detail that lingers after each passage.
Two duos meet in an evening of intergenerational jazz dialogue. Alfio Origlio (piano), acclaimed for a vast discography, pairs with Swiss drummer Marc‑Olivier Savoy to move between jazz, classical references and spontaneous improvisation. The Klopfenstein brothers—Mattias (sax) and Pablo (p)—bring youthful energy and tight familial interplay. Together the programmes balance tradition and exploration, weaving lyrical saxophone lines, rhythmic openness and intimate dynamics that invite close listening and a sense of shared musical freedom.
