24 heures de la vie d’une femme

Staged by Juan Crespillo and performed by Compagnie le Phénix, this adaptation by and starring Anne Martinet dramatizes Stefan Zweig’s novella about a chance, obsessive encounter. Madame C, an aristocratic widow, is swept into a twenty-four-hour passion that unsettles her memory and loosens long-held constraints. Sparse staging and focused acting foreground inner turmoil, while the production explores desire, guilt and liberation with tense intimacy, drawing audiences into a fragile psychological world.

Molière’s Tartuffe tells the story of a slick con-man who hides behind ostentatious piety to worm his way into the wealthy Orgon household. Orgon, dazzled by Tartuffe’s sanctimonious rhetoric, defends him even as the impostor’s hypocrisy poisons family bonds and pushes the household toward ruin.

Director Jean Liermier underscores how, in Molière’s work, the female characters serve as the moral compass and spark of resistance, a beacon of hope against oppression. Staged on a stark, minimalist set that exposes the family’s rigid tensions—and featuring Gilles Privat as an unbending Orgon—this production highlights the play’s continuing resonance in a world beset by egotism, fanaticism, and conspiracy thinking. The central question remains timeless: will society keep falling for Tartuffe’s brand of seductive deceit?

When we hear the word “family,” we often think of our own. But today, with so many different models, what truly defines a family?

In this playful, child-friendly performance, Muriel Imbach explores these questions through six whimsical characters — futuristic poets who reflect on chosen families, blended families, and the invisible bonds that connect us. A poetic journey into what it means to “make family” today.
