A powerful operatic diptych directed by Stéphane Ghislain Roussel, in partnership with the Grand Théâtre de Genève, L’Empereur d’Atlantis, preceded by En vertu de…, unfolds across two iconic venues in one evening.

The first part, staged at the UN, explores contemporary democratic fragilities through Eugene Birman’s modern work, before the audience moves to the Comédie de Genève for Viktor Ullmann’s haunting chamber opera composed in a concentration camp during WWII—a dark, ironic fable on tyranny, death, and the madness of absolute power.

Makeup by Natalia Lepianka and costumes by Emilie Revel shape the fading glamour of a music‑hall star who soliloquises, recalls past glory and loss, and sings in playback—an inward plunge toward memory and survival.

“Cleopatra at Am Stram Gram” is a must-see show for audiences of all ages. Directed by Dan Jemmett and penned by RĂ©mi De Vos, this production offers a fresh take on the Cleopatra myth, uncovering lesser-known facets of this historical icon. With an all-female cast, the play delves into her alliances, romantic entanglements, and her prowess in languages, mathematics, and philosophy, set against a backdrop of a male-dominated world. Presented as a lively meeting between young musicians and jazz in all its forms, this festival showcases emerging talents from school workshops. Students from collèges De Saussure, Claparède, André-Chavanne and the Jean-Piaget school perform spirited sets guided by their teachers. The programme spans vibrant concerts, experimental explorations and collaborative ensembles, balancing improvisation and composed pieces. The atmosphere is energetic and curious, celebrating youthful creativity, sonic discovery and the communal thrill of live jazz.

As part of the cultural season in Plan-les-Ouates, the Puck Collective presents a historical drama based on testimonies from Burkina Faso and Switzerland. The story follows Aminata, who ventures to Burkina Faso after her mother’s passing to uncover her past, intricately linked to the assassination of President Thomas Sankara. Immersed in a popular uprising, Aminata navigates a landscape of hope and uncertainty while confronting the hidden aspects of her personal history. The performance delves into Sankara’s legacy and raises questions about the future of coming generations.

Recluses Fest #9 gathers raw punk and rock energy across two nights, with saturated riffs, fierce pogoing and a strong sense of camaraderie. The programme features Les Wampas, Dirty Old Mat, La Raymonde and La Java Noire on the first night, and Les Ramoneurs de Menhirs (20th anniversary), Opium du Peuple, René Binamé and 1 Kub on the second. The festival favours uncompromising, high‑velocity performances and an intense live atmosphere.
