As part of the cultural season in Plan-les-Ouates, the Puck Collective presents a historical drama based on testimonies from Burkina Faso and Switzerland. The story follows Aminata, who ventures to Burkina Faso after her mother’s passing to uncover her past, intricately linked to the assassination of President Thomas Sankara. Immersed in a popular uprising, Aminata navigates a landscape of hope and uncertainty while confronting the hidden aspects of her personal history. The performance delves into Sankara’s legacy and raises questions about the future of coming generations.

For the second year, Le Lyrique restaurant hosts a full day of concerts dedicated to Schumann’s chamber music. The event highlights the harmonic and poetic richness of his compositions through works for clarinet, horn, voice, and strings, blending well-known pieces with rare, fantastical selections. Performances feature pieces like “Fantasiestücke,” “Frauenliebe und Leben,” and string quartets, brought to life by talented musicians under the artistic direction of Raphaël Merlin.

Actor Samuel Labarthe turns Nicolas Bouvier’s fever-drenched memoir The Scorpion-Fish into a hypnotic, miniaturist tour de force: marooned in 1950s Ceylon after a headlong road trip from Geneva through the Balkans and Afghanistan, the once-ebullient traveller spirals into tropical delirium, trading human company for buzzing insects, mirage-bright visions and mordant humour that flits between the sublime and the grotesque. Under Catherine Schaub’s finely gauged direction, Labarthe channels both the lush lyricism and the slow-burn torment of this “motionless voyage,” distilling Bouvier’s languid prose into a tactile, rejuvenating elixir that lets the audience feel every bead of sweat, jolt of wonder and sting of isolation.
