Curated presentation gathers laureates of the International Competition for Artists from Minorities (2022–2025), bringing together around thirty artists such as Zahra Hassan Marwan, Babatunde “Tribe” Akande and Mehdi Rajabian who interrogate dominant narratives and resist erasure. Through painting, photography, sculpture, digital art, installations, performance and music, contributors blend testimony, memory and activism.
Four thematic axes—statelessness; intersectionality; memory in the present; belonging, place and loss—shape a multidisciplinary dialogue that foregrounds minority voices and asks how art can testify to, preserve and reclaim marginalized histories.

Maliza Kiasuwa and Gavin Goodman present a black-and-white duo exploring emergence, connection and material memory.
Kiasuwa’s “Rhizomes” comprises sculptures of rope and woven elements that evoke roots and organic networks, invoking Deleuzean rhizomes to probe multiplicity, transformation and fragile relational structures.
Goodman’s “Vela” consists of photographic, hand‑painted works that reinterpret traditional garments through minimalist restraint, allowing motifs of appearance and becoming to surface.
Together the projects juxtapose sculptural tactility and photographic restraint to question how tradition and form reappear in contemporary practice.

Flash Visit : Sylvia Sleigh Exhibition

Sylvia Sleigh’s portraiture challenges conventional representations through nuanced figuration and a subversive reversal of traditional gender roles. This presentation highlights her painterly technique, from meticulous brushwork to a restrained palette, alongside selected works that interrogate art-historical narratives and institutional biases. Viewers are invited to observe the artist’s reworking of perspective and presence, where everyday subjects gain dignity and agency and the conventions of the male gaze are critically reconfigured.

New Realism: A Poetic Recycling of Urban Reality

Le Nouveau Réalisme brings together works by Arman, César, Christo, François Dufrêne, Yves Klein, Niki de Saint Phalle, Mimmo Rotella, Daniel Spoerri, Jean Tinguely and Jacques Villeglé to examine the movement’s poetic reworking of urban detritus. The exhibition presents sculptures, assemblages, collages and interventions that displace found objects from everyday contexts, juxtaposing industrial materials, advertising fragments and ready‑mades. Through material play and détournement, the show explores urban consumption, collective memory and the politics of visibility.

Anne-Marie Akplogan presents a body of paintings and mixed-media works produced during a recent residency in Paris. Focusing on legs and feet, the works probe the language of the body, the breath of the soul and the memory embedded in the foot. Through layered paint, varied textures and sculptural handling of surface, Akplogan situates intimate anatomy within sensitive, spiritual and anthropological registers, inviting reflection on movement, ritual and embodied memory.

Jean-Marc Yersin and Antoine Roth present two photographic projects that probe urban and natural perception.

In Cités délaissées, Yersin composes futuristic images of deserted cities where digital dematerialization, climate strain and demographic decline have hollowed out public life; the photographs evoke frozen infrastructures and virtual withdrawal. Mirages sees Roth using a long-focus digital camera along the shores of Lake Geneva to capture rare atmospheric and optical phenomena—mirages, light and reflections—questioning the materiality of landscape and how perception shapes experience.

Entrez en matière! From a grain of sand to sustainable cities

Curated by the University of Geneva, the exhibition traces the journey of a grain of sand from extraction to its role in contemporary urban construction. Through research-driven installations and documentary displays, it examines extraction, global logistics, and the environmental and social impacts of sand mining. The show juxtaposes scarred landscapes and fragile ecosystems with the material demands of concrete and infrastructure, prompting reflection on alternative materials, reuse practices and how cities might be reimagined for genuine sustainability.
