Sarah Singla, an agronomist engineer and farmer practising conservation agriculture since 1980, brings decades of hands-on experience and insights from international farm visits and scientific studies. She is joined by Pascal Boivin, Professor at HEPIA.

The lecture examines how agronomy and soil fertility underpin sustainable agricultural solutions, exploring conservation practices, soil restoration techniques and evidence-based approaches to enhance productivity and resilience. It addresses global challenges by revealing practical strategies to rebuild soil health and secure long-term food systems.

FIFDH has welcomed Nobel laureates, renowned filmmakers, and leading voices in activism, making it a unique platform where art and advocacy intersect.

28 January – 23 December

This interactive memory challenge invites participants to test their memory while exploring practical ways to preserve biodiversity based on Geneva’s municipal strategy. Players match “before-and-after” images that illustrate individual and institutional actions, and each correct pair reveals concise information explaining the measure. The activity examines themes such as habitat restoration, species-friendly practices, urban greening and policy responses, helping participants understand the impact and rationale behind everyday and organisational conservation choices.

Saturday 14 March, 09:30

This practical workshop explores seedling production from sowing to cultivating young plants, covering optimal care on balconies and in gardens and the eventual seed harvest. Participants practice transplanting seedlings and learn hands-on techniques for potting, watering and soil preparation. The session also examines common diseases, their identification and prevention strategies, and offers advice on building resilient seedlings for small-space production.

13 March – 12 June

DE.CO.DE is a research-led workshop series for 18–25-year-olds exploring disinformation, media, artificial intelligence and democratic participation. Participants work with researchers and journalists to analyse how information circulates and is distorted, co-create multimedia content, and develop analytical and creative skills. The programme examines digital influences on civic life, offers practical tools for critical media literacy, and supports contributors in producing resources for peers while recognising the ethical challenges of online information.

17 January – 21 March

Evelyne Brügger, a certified art therapist, leads the workshops with support from Joëlle Mauris, a professional cellist whose music accompanies one session per cycle.

The sessions explore creative practices to support women living with endometriosis, PMS or menstrual pain, addressing emotional expression, body awareness and coping strategies. Participants investigate materials and processes to rediscover inner resources, share experiences, and develop ways to express and regulate sensations through art and sound.

3 workshop cycles:
