DE.CO.DE: Disinformation, Media and Democracy

DE.CO.DE is a research-led workshop series for 18–25-year-olds exploring disinformation, media, artificial intelligence and democratic participation. Participants work with researchers and journalists to analyse how information circulates and is distorted, co-create multimedia content, and develop analytical and creative skills. The programme examines digital influences on civic life, offers practical tools for critical media literacy, and supports contributors in producing resources for peers while recognising the ethical challenges of online information.

Erwan Tréguer, a Mindfulness instructor, and Murielle Brunschwig, a cultural mediator, lead a two-voice mindfulness session bridging contemplative practice and art interpretation.

The session explores attentive perception through guided breath and listening exercises in relation to Hodler’s paintings, examining how focused attention reveals emotional textures, compositional dynamics, and personal meaning. It investigates ways art can foster presence and reflective awareness and prompts discussion about the relationship between attention, emotion, and interpretation.

12 – 14 June

Join this intimate community reading series celebrating letters and journeys, centred on the theme “Beyond the Mountains.” Five outdoor readings present texts by Schwarzenbach, Cingria, Bouvier, Vernet and Eberhardt, performed by Marthe Keller, Jean‑Luc Bideau, Samuel Labarthe, Camille Bordet, Ophélie Gaillard and Geoffroy de Clavière. Each session stands alone and lasts about one hour. The festival invites neighbours, families and everyone curious about literature to come together, listen and share in a quiet, communal experience.

Monica Serlavos moderates a Parents d’Avenir panel with documentary filmmaker Katharine Domincé, a representative of Association Enseignants pour le Climat, and XR Familles Lausanne members Xavier and Adrien (12).

They examine how to address the ecological crisis with children, exploring how to balance truthful explanations with hope and resilience, share practical conversation techniques and educational perspectives, and transform eco-anxiety into collective agency through participatory discussion and small-group exchanges that support family and school practices.

Saturday 13 June, 18:00

Alejandro Vaccaro, collector and biographer of Jorge Luis Borges, appears with Alejandro Roemmers (poet and entrepreneur) and Roberto Alifano (author, poet and essayist) to present their research and collections.

The roundtable examines how collecting practices shape narratives around Borges, exploring notable objects, metonymic extensions of the writer, and the philosophical stakes of preserving literary heritage. Vaccaro will show selected items from his private collection and speakers reflect on memory, curation and literary legacy.

Discover the new monumental organ at Église de Compesières during a guided tour on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 10am to 11:30am. Recently installed, this German Romantic-style instrument brings a unique addition to Geneva’s organ landscape through its design, mechanics, and rich sound architecture.

The tour will be led by Diego Innocenzi, organist at Victoria Hall and teacher at the Conservatoire de Musique de Genève.
