Allégorie sur le monde

Françoise Deladoëy assembles cut-and-paste collages combining watercolor, graphite and mixed media to probe contemporary upheavals and imagine alternative possibilities.
Using images and fragments sourced from the press, she composes visual landscapes where disparate realities collide and metamorphose. The works fuse the living and the mechanical, beauty and unease, highlighting environmental crisis, technological shifts and resource exhaustion. Collage becomes a transformative method that both records fragmentation and opens an imaginative space where new narratives, spiritual questions and other forms of coexistence might be envisioned.

Swiss artist Seline Burn presents a series of about a dozen paintings that explore liminal territories where identities, emotions and relationships transform. Figures in motion, in relation or in passage emerge from an omnipresent water, which functions as memory, inner landscape and dream space. Recurring colours weave a sensitive thread through contrasts and tensions across the works. The exhibition encourages contemplation of ambivalence and the possibility of finding forms of belonging within transient states.

14 September – 17 October

Through textiles, photography, performance, and writing, Vanessa Riera explores the visible and invisible burdens that permeate women’s experiences: norms, legacies, and inherited traumas, but also care, healing, and resistance. The title evokes those micromovements that allow the body to endure, adapt, and transform—gestures sometimes imperceptible, yet profoundly meaningful.

16 September – 31 October

Le Nouveau Réalisme brings together works by Arman, César, Christo, François Dufrêne, Yves Klein, Niki de Saint Phalle, Mimmo Rotella, Daniel Spoerri, Jean Tinguely and Jacques Villeglé to examine the movement’s poetic reworking of urban detritus. The exhibition presents sculptures, assemblages, collages and interventions that displace found objects from everyday contexts, juxtaposing industrial materials, advertising fragments and ready‑mades. Through material play and détournement, the show explores urban consumption, collective memory and the politics of visibility.

Science with a lake view. Hidden inside the elegant Villa Bartholoni, this small museum is packed with historic instruments linked to astronomy, electricity, microscopy, and meteorology. A charming detour through Geneva’s surprisingly rich scientific past — with Parc Mon-Repos right outside.

8 October – 21 November

Mirella Jaworska’s first solo exhibition presents paintings from 2026 that conjure the uncertain light of waking, when dream and reality blur. Drawing on early Renaissance masters and Japanese painting, Jaworska composes intimate tableaux populated by faces, flowers, skulls, cigarettes and studio objects, alongside recurring figures such as a jockey, a sphinx and a chair pierced by a heart. Her layered brushwork and muted palette explore memory, loss and melancholic reverie.

Calvin, Geneva, and a movement that reshaped Europe. Just steps from St Peter’s Cathedral, the MIR traces the Reformation through paintings, manuscripts, rare books, objects and multimedia — turning a complex chapter of religious and political history into an accessible visit.
