New Realism: A Poetic Recycling of Urban Reality

Le Nouveau Réalisme brings together works by Arman, César, Christo, François Dufrêne, Yves Klein, Niki de Saint Phalle, Mimmo Rotella, Daniel Spoerri, Jean Tinguely and Jacques Villeglé to examine the movement’s poetic reworking of urban detritus. The exhibition presents sculptures, assemblages, collages and interventions that displace found objects from everyday contexts, juxtaposing industrial materials, advertising fragments and ready‑mades. Through material play and détournement, the show explores urban consumption, collective memory and the politics of visibility.

Their Crops, Our Roots – Portraits of Women in Geneva’s Countryside

Photographer Bertrand Carlier presents a series of large-format portraits that foreground women working across Geneva’s agricultural landscape. The photographs depict market gardeners, winegrowers, fruit growers, livestock farmers and cellar managers in their working environments, using natural light and documentary framing.
The project explores gender, labour and continuity, revealing how women’s labour shapes rural economies and biocultural traditions. Set against the UN’s International Year of the Woman Farmer 2026, the work invites renewed attention to the diversity of skills and trajectories within contemporary Geneva agriculture.

Franck Bohbot presents a selection of photographs of heritage libraries that open a space for meditation and reverie around the idea of the library.
Alongside these images, contemporary installations and mirrored arrangements that juxtapose photographs of personal libraries create reflective encounters, while a kaleidoscope of texts centers the theme. The exhibition examines how architecture, collection and personal memory shape our relation to knowledge, evoking nostalgia, curiosity and questions about the library as a social and imagined space.

Antoine Roth presents a photography exhibition focused on atmospheric and optical phenomena observed over Lake Geneva. Working with a digital camera and a long‑focal lens, he photographs distant horizons where light, water and air converge. The series documents rare mirages, notably the Fata Morgana, exploring the boundary between perceptual illusion and measurable physical event. Through patient field observation and precise framing, Roth examines how light and thermal gradients sculpt landscape appearances and challenge our sense of materiality.

Accrochage d’été brings together selected works by Andrea Gabutti, Etienne Krähnembühl, Laurent de Pury and Jean‑Patrice Rozand. The presentation highlights recent investigations in painting, sculpture and mixed media, juxtaposing material textures and sculptural line. Through compact compositions and attention to process, the artists explore perception, the limits of representation and the tactile qualities of surfaces. The selection emphasizes subtle dialogues between form, colour and spatial tension.

PlasMAH: Flesh and the Siphon

Artists Daniel Dewar and Grégory Gicquel present a large-scale installation conceived as a traversable architecture that reconfigures the museum courtyard into a mutable living environment. Seven works dialog with sculpture, and two pieces were created specifically to engage the lapidary collection and the Pierre-aux-Dames megalith. Using carved stone surfaces, constructed siphons and modular plaster and resin elements, the project explores material metamorphosis, bodily presence and the shifting relations between monumentality and domestic scale.
