Fusion — Aldo Locatelli

Aldo Locatelli presents a diverse body of work spanning decades, rooted in experimentation and improvisation.
Paintings in oil, mixed-media pieces, ink drawings, sculptures, floral assemblages under plexiglas and repurposed objects converse through a tactile visual language. His practice moves between abstraction and figuration, privileging matter, color and gestural mark-making to explore observation, the living world and unexpected material affinities. The show reveals a restless creativity driven by curiosity, collage-like associations and continual recomposition.

Opening: Wednesday, 16 September, 18:00
Closing event: Sunday, 27 September, 17:00

Alice Izzo presents Botanic Circus, an immersive installation that transforms natural elements into a poetic visual performance. Through site-specific sculptural forms, coloured assemblies of flowers, plants and fruit become staged protagonists, inviting slow wandering, close observation and tactile interaction. The work blends installation, painted surfaces and ephemeral botanical assemblage to probe nature’s textures, theatricality and human perception. A parallel programme of monthly acrylic painting workshops complements the installation.

Artists Daniel Dewar and Grégory Gicquel present a large-scale installation conceived as a traversable architecture that reconfigures the museum courtyard into a mutable living environment. Seven works dialog with sculpture, and two pieces were created specifically to engage the lapidary collection and the Pierre-aux-Dames megalith. Using carved stone surfaces, constructed siphons and modular plaster and resin elements, the project explores material metamorphosis, bodily presence and the shifting relations between monumentality and domestic scale.

2 July – 12 September

Summer Vibes gathers six gallery artists whose works celebrate the season’s light, warmth and vitality. Through painting, sculpture, collage and installation, the show explores colour, atmosphere and emotional resonance. Lucia Hierro and Carlo D’Anselmi engage everyday materials and narrative, while Ben Aprea, Anna Fasshauer, Séverin Guelpa and Romane de Watteville investigate form, texture and spatial perception. Puissance 5 brings together five women artists from different generations in a dialogue between matter and spirit. The Tender Buttons exhibition offers a multidisciplinary exploration centered on buttons, delving into their identity and historical significance. Featuring over three hundred ceramic and glass buttons, the exhibition interacts with the museum’s works to highlight their role in both formal experimentation and socio-cultural narratives. The exhibition’s architecture evokes the commercial arcades of the 19th century, a pivotal era for button industrialization. Curated by Claire FitzGerald, the exhibition is supported by the Swiss Fashion Museum and showcases never-before-seen pieces from several prestigious collections.

18 June – 19 September

Artist Gautier Hardy presents ‘Kids Garden’, a series of works that inhabit a territory between childhood and the adult world. Through open diary fragments and an instinctive plastic language that draws from art brut, street art and neo‑expressionism, the exhibition brings together paintings, drawings and mixed‑media pieces. The works explore memory, play, and the uneasy passage to adulthood, using gestural mark‑making and raw materials to evoke intimacy and emotional intensity.
