Scène Vagabonde’s seventh edition brings a compact program of contemporary theatre and music, presenting three contrasting stage works — “Par le bout du nez”, “Quadrille” and “Prima facie” — alongside a concert by Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp as part of La Bâtie-Festival de Genève. Directed by Elidan Arzoni and performed by Anna Budde, the production weaves urgent questions about justice, credibility and power. Danielle Milovic’s lighting and the French translation by Dominique Hollier and Séverine Magois shape a stark, intimate staging. Produced by Les Amis – Le Chariot for Scène Vagabonde Festival.

Led by conductor Matthieu Schweyer, Orchestre Concertus presents Mozart’s Requiem with soloists Alida Barbasini (soprano), Mi‑Young Kim (mezzo‑soprano), Daniel Duri (tenor) and Seong‑Ho Han (bass). The performance balances intimate choral passages and thunderous orchestral climaxes, exploring grief, transcendence and ritual. Sparse orchestration and dramatic vocal lines are shaped with attention to dynamic contrast and vocal colour, creating a moving, cinematic soundworld that alternates between hushed prayer and overwhelming intensity.

3 – 11 October

Led by conductor and pianist Luis Semeniuk, this choral programme gathers 60 singers from Chorale des Eaux-Vives and the Chœur La Sixtine de Sézenove for a journey through European repertoire — Puccini, Poulenc, Kodály, Lotti and Bruckner. Filmmaker Caroline Cuénod supplies poetic images that weave with the vocal textures, creating an immersive dialogue between music and film. The evening shifts between luminous harmonies and intimate moments, evoking landscapes, memory and shared cultural resonance.

Le Truc sur le feu is a playful, offbeat fable that examines how the domestication of fire shaped human life. Written by Romane Nicolas, the piece stages two Paleolithic clans who wonder, clash and ignite as puppets by the Kokoschka tradition bring grotesque situations to life. With incisive humour and sharp theatricality, the show confronts ideas of progress, individuality versus community, animality and civilisation, offering a vividly staged reflection on the choices that set societies alight.

Performed by two virtuoso actors, the staging balances humour, poetry and subtlety, weaving anecdotes and unexpected encounters into a lively portrait of artistic passion and insouciance. The production highlights sharp writing and delicate interplay between performers, offering an intimate, humane experience of memory and theatrical longing.
