Led by conductor Raphaël Merlin, Caravan brings together Les Forces Majeures to fuse classical, jazz and contemporary creation. The programme juxtaposes Debussy and Ellington with new music by Ondrej Adámek, commissioned for the ensemble, whose score mines the mechanical rhythms of cycling to evoke a yearning for escape. The orchestra navigates textural soundscapes and propulsive grooves, balancing intimate chamber colours with sweeping orchestral surges, and foregrounds mobility, communal exchange and the visceral joy of shared musical travel.
