Brasseur des Grottes is a multi-level venue combining restaurant, bar and club in Genève’s Grottes district. It offers pizzas, grilled meats and cocktails alongside live music, dance nights and themed events. The venue hosts diverse cultural evenings—salsa, kizomba and blues—serving as a lively local hub for dining and nightlife.
Led by pianist and singer Dennis Watson, the Dr. Watson Band revisits blues and rock through soulful vocals and piano-driven arrangements. The quartet — Dennis Watson (piano, vocals), Alain Niederhauser (guitar, vocals), Luc Schuwey (bass) and Pascal Jean (drums) — blends originals from the album “Welcome to the World” with covers by Freddie King, Muddy Waters, the Allman Brothers and Jimi Hendrix. Sharing the bill, The Lawdy Mamas — four Geneva-based women — channel raw Southern blues and 1970s rock, delivering high-energy, road-worn guitar-driven performances.
An energetic live competition for local blues bands, featuring eight selected groups each performing two tightly-crafted songs (max seven minutes each). The evening highlights raw musicianship, gritty guitar tones and call-and-response vocals, with a shared backline supporting tight ensemble interplay. Prizes include a professional recording session and gift certificates, and the awards ceremony culminates with winners returning onstage for a celebratory encore. Expect an intimate, electric atmosphere of rivalry, camaraderie and soulful performance.
Led by opening act Blues Rooster, this jam session invites local musicians and listeners into a night of blues-inflected improvisation and collective play. The format is loose and conversational, shifting between driving grooves, soulful solos and call-and-response exchanges. With a focus on listening and spontaneous interaction, the evening fosters conviviality and musical risk-taking, offering intimate, high-energy moments where leaders emerge, then dissolve into ensemble textures. Everyone is encouraged to bring their instrument and join the conversation.
