Prima Facie, by Suzie Miller, stages a tense courtroom drama centred on Tessa, a brilliant defence lawyer whose life is upended after she becomes the victim of an assault. Directed by Elidan Arzoni and performed by Anna Budde, the production weaves urgent questions about justice, credibility and power. Based on sketches by Devos, Ribes, Sylvie Joly, Palmade and Martinez, this theatrical revue sketches the comic microcosm of apartment life. Short scenes expose domestic tensions — marital rows, overwhelmed parents, an unpredictable grandmother and holiday disasters — with sharp observational wit and precise farcical timing. Choreographed by María del Mar Suárez (La Chachi), this hybrid flamenco pieces tradition and punk sensibility into a raw, personal language. On stage two musicians and a singer shape a live soundscape that frames La Chachi’s emergence: a dim light reveals her silhouette as she advances and begins an ascension. Her motions coil and break in looping cycles as the music intensifies. Visceral and hypnotic, the performance immerses spectators in concentrated rhythms and fierce corporeal poetry.
With cellist Lisa Cailleton and Jérôme Gruffel (viola), Jean‑Baptiste Navarro (violin) and Nathalie Saudan (violin), the Contrepoint Quartet traces a repertoire from Purcell to Philip Glass and interweaves Scandinavian folk motifs. The programme examines the persistent force of repeating musical cells, contrasting baroque clarity with minimalist pulse and folk lyricism. Subtle dynamics and crystalline ensemble tuning reveal textures that shift from introspective to propulsive, inviting close listening and emotional clarity. It is presented within the Les Quatre Saisons de La Musicale season.
