Le Petit Prince

Directed by Jean Bellorini in collaboration with Yang Hua Theatre, this staging reimagines Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s Le Petit Prince with the title character portrayed by a Chinese actor. The production blends French and Mandarin dialogue with live music by singers from China’s independent scene. Actors François Deblock and Marc Plas perform alongside a cast that shifts between a childlike prince, an ancient reciter of poems and fantastical cosmic inhabitants. The staging mixes song, poetry and intimate theatricality, exploring friendship and human connection.

Sparse staging and intimate musical numbers highlight a painful coming-of-age and the possibility of moral change.

The Wheel of Fortune

Two unexpected deities arrive by bicycle, guided by a capricious GPS, carrying a very serious object: the Wheel of Fortune. They need the audience—especially children—to spin the wheel and together invent a story about a child to whom nothing seems to go right. Misfortunes pile up, luck sticks to the sneakers and solutions must be imagined. A participatory musical tale where chance and imagination shape a different story each time.
