Lokos Festival gathers emerging local bands in a raw, communal rock spirit. The programme spotlights young ensembles such as BLAYWEZZ, TEMPLOW, THE HOODS OFF, PROJET WIPEOUT, ANGUILLE SOUS MANGUE and ARCANE, each offering energetic sets that blend garage grit, melodic hooks and experimental textures. Curated by a collective of scene producers, the evening emphasizes live intensity, rough-edged sonorities and audience proximity, shifting between urgent rhythms and quieter, atmospheric moments—an intimate snapshot of a rising musical scene.

Adapted by Cie Le Magnifique Théâtre from Alessandro Baricco’s novella, Novecento is a maritime fable directed by Julien Schmutz. Actor Michel Lavoie embodies the narrator while pianist-composer Max Jendly conjures nightly jazz waves that shape the piece’s soundworld. The staging transforms stage into ship, where music becomes horizon and memory, blending poetic storytelling and live piano improvisation. The production favours a dreamlike, suspended atmosphere that explores solitude, belonging and the liberating force of music.

Alexandra Grimal — REWILD

Led by saxophonist and vocalist Alexandra Grimal, REWILD assembles a cross-genre ensemble at the meeting point of contemporary jazz, contemporary classical, experimental and improvised music. Trumpeter Susana Santos Da Silva, guitarists Fred Frith and Marc Ducret, and drummer Gerry Hemingway contribute original scores and singular timbres, creating a constantly evolving sound world. Textures shift between thrusting improvisation and fragile, sculpted passages, privileging raw sonority, subtle interplay and extended techniques to shape an intense, immersive sonic landscape.

Molière’s Tartuffe tells the story of a slick con-man who hides behind ostentatious piety to worm his way into the wealthy Orgon household. Orgon, dazzled by Tartuffe’s sanctimonious rhetoric, defends him even as the impostor’s hypocrisy poisons family bonds and pushes the household toward ruin.

Director Jean Liermier underscores how, in Molière’s work, the female characters serve as the moral compass and spark of resistance, a beacon of hope against oppression. Staged on a stark, minimalist set that exposes the family’s rigid tensions—and featuring Gilles Privat as an unbending Orgon—this production highlights the play’s continuing resonance in a world beset by egotism, fanaticism, and conspiracy thinking. The central question remains timeless: will society keep falling for Tartuffe’s brand of seductive deceit?

Created by Aurélie Hubeau and Lucie Hanoy, L’IMPOSTURE is a comic and poetic exploration of doubt, self-image and belonging. The piece follows a woman who describes herself as too small, obese, ugly and a tomboy, and recounts how she forged an identity in today’s world. Using objects, clothing and puppets manipulated with inventive choreography, the performance weaves humor, poetry and music — from Patrick Bruel to gospel and karaoke — to celebrate difference and question social norms, delivering warmth and poignancy.

Emma Saba / Mary Madlean — Jalousie des Tempêtes

Emma Saba and Jeanne Pâris revive the lyric repertoire in a subversive, celebratory performance. Playing with time and inheritance, Saba reworks early arias into electric fragments, laughter and amplified sighs. The piece interrogates the politics of the voice as opera sheds its white pageant to become raw material, desire, anger and tenderness. Part performance, part concert, Jalousie des tempêtes stages a ritual of dismantling and rejoicing, where vocal technique meets bodily intensity and theatrical invention.
