Les Ancêtres du Futur

Led by Florence Melnotte (piano, synth, koassilator, vocals), with Louis Billette (saxophones, flugelhorn, vocals) and Sylvain Fournier (drums, vocals), Les Ancêtres du Futur conjure an aesthetic shock that blends anachronism and urgent invention. Their sound moves between wistful, kitsch melodicism and wild, improvised eruptions, where sculpted motifs collide with raw improvisation. Lighting and dynamics create a shimmering, tense atmosphere, transporting listeners through uncanny forms that feel both nostalgic and startlingly new.

22 September – 29 November

Two short plays by Anton Chekhov staged by Tibor Ockenfels and Flavie Tapparel, presented as compact dramatic machines where romantic comedy masks escalating confrontations between desire, affection and material interest. Performances rely on precise physical timing, terse exchanges and a lean, playful design to reveal the simmering violence behind courtship rituals. The three actors — Estelle Bridet, Matteo Prandi and Raphaël Vachoux — inhabit heightened character types that shift between farce and darker comic truth, creating a sharply observed, kinetic evening.

For his final production as a theatre director, Jean Liermier revisits Tennessee Williams’s autobiographical classic about memory, longing and family. Set in the 1930s American South, the staging gathers a company around Laura, here embodied by Aurélia Thierrée, with Cyprien Colombo, David Gobet and Clotilde Mollet completing the ensemble. Liermier’s direction emphasises fragile interiors and poetic movement, offering a liberating, weightless atmosphere that balances tenderness and uneasy nostalgia.
