From Florence to Moscow — Memory and Virtuosity

Led by violinist Pierre Fouchenneret, this programme juxtaposes two facets of Tchaikovsky: the sunlit nostalgia of Souvenir de Florence and the burning virtuosity of the Violin Concerto in D major, op.35, presented here in a newly commissioned arrangement by D. Walter. An accompanying string ensemble shapes warm, sensuous textures while phrasing shifts from intimate lyricism to high-voltage virtuosity. The concert balances reflection and display, inviting listeners into a dialogue between Mediterranean warmth and Russian ardour.
