Masood Boomgaard performs as Self-Help Singh, an alter ego who fuses stand-up comedy, parody and faux motivational speaking into a sharp, character-driven show. With dry humour and plainspoken common-sense, he dismantles self-improvement clichés and exposes modern anxieties through carefully observed gags and storytelling. Directed by Françoise Courvoisier, this production of Anton Chekhov’s Oncle Vania — translated by Arthur Adamov — assembles a committed ensemble (Vincent Bonillo, Pierre Dubey, Bérangère Mastrangelo, Patricia Mollet-Mercier, Clarisse Morizot, Pierre Omer, Juliana Samarine, Edmond Vuilloud) to explore love, the passage of time and illusions lost. Frank Martin’s opera La Tempête, after Shakespeare with a libretto by August Wilhelm von Schlegel and Johann Ludwig Tieck, returns in a new French-language production.
