Studio Gabriele de Agostini is a small performance and teaching space run by the Conservatoire populaire de Genève. It hosts student and teacher concerts, rehearsals, workshops and intimate public performances, supporting musical pedagogy and local cultural programming in a compact, flexible venue conducive to chamber music and educational projects.
Geneva Brass celebrates its identity and journey in a portrait-like concert led by Antoine Courvoisier. The first half honours works that shaped the quintet, blending major repertoire pages and emblematic pieces for brass. The second half plunges the audience into a cabaret world inspired by the Roaring Twenties, mixing energy, humour and theatricality. The programme is virtuosic and festive, rooted in collective joy and sharing, staged with careful mise-en-scène.
Led by pianist Christophe Sturzenegger and performed by the Quintette de cuivres Alliance (two trumpets, trombone, horn and tuba), this one-hour program explores the intimate, vocal side of Johannes Brahms. Arranging songs and vocal quartets into brass textures, the programme — including Ballades op.10, Rhapsodies op.79 and vocal quartets op.64, 92 & 112 — lets brass assume the choral role with warmth and solemnity, highlighting timbre, lyricism and the emotional depth of Brahms’s music.
