Scène Vagabonde Festival 2026

Scène Vagabonde’s seventh edition brings a compact program of contemporary theatre and music, presenting three contrasting stage works — “Par le bout du nez”, “Quadrille” and “Prima facie” — alongside a concert by Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp as part of La Bâtie-Festival de Genève. Across intimate stagings the festival favors inventive direction, close ensemble interplay and a balance of wit and intensity, offering encounters that privilege physical presence, tonal variety and rigorous dramaturgy.

Estelle Revaz and Laudine Dard

Le Manège d'Onex

Cellist Estelle Revaz and harpist Laudine Dard form a striking duo that dives into the Hispanic repertoire with Amor y pasión. By making their instruments converse, they explore works by Piazzolla, Gardel, Cassadó, Granados and Ginastera, blending the cello’s deep voice with the harp’s radiant colours. Tangos, heightened lyricism and popular tunes fuel a programme of passion and virtuosity. Revaz, internationally recognised and active in Swiss cultural and political life, brings intensity and stage presence.

Music and songs by Stephen Sondheim with a libretto by George Furth and a French translation by Stéphane Laporte. This intimate, razor-sharp musical follows Robert (Bobby), a charming New Yorker confronting bachelorhood, friendship and the compromises of coupledom. The production blends incisive lyrics, lively choreography and a close ensemble cast to reveal joyful neuroses, hidden desires and fragile bonds. The staging alternates warmth and irony, inviting reflection on love, loneliness and the elusive art of staying together.

JazzContreBand celebrates its 30th anniversary with a new creation led by trumpeter Erik Truffaz. Franco‑Swiss musicians join forces with the Orchestre des Alpes et du Léman in Side by Side, a programme that blends classical writing, jazz phrasing and open-ended improvisation. The project explores textural contrasts, orchestral colours and solo interplay, shifting from intimate chamber passages to wide, cinematic swells. Directed by Céline Goormaghtigh and written by Anne Berest, LA VISITE probes maternal instinct with sharp humour and urgent intensity. In a compact domestic setting, a young mother at the limits of endurance confronts visitors while her defenses dissolve; a trio of actresses whirl and collide, delivering a caustic torrent of language and revealing movement. The work explores ‘matraissance’—the birth of motherhood—balancing lucidity, rage and tenderness to unsettle familiar myths about maternal bliss.
