LA VISITE

Booking Required

Directed by Céline Goormaghtigh and written by Anne Berest, LA VISITE probes maternal instinct with sharp humour and urgent intensity. In a compact domestic setting, a young mother at the limits of endurance confronts visitors while her defenses dissolve; a trio of actresses whirl and collide, delivering a caustic torrent of language and revealing movement. The work explores ‘matraissance’—the birth of motherhood—balancing lucidity, rage and tenderness to unsettle familiar myths about maternal bliss.

Yasmine Hamdan performs a set that folds pan-Arab traditions into contemporary electro-pop, where her intimate, smoky voice drifts between poetic lyricism and rhythmic propulsion. A singer-songwriter and producer who emerged with Beirut’s pioneering duo Soapkills and later collaborated with Mirwais, she blends soul, guitar-driven motifs and electronic textures. Her work with filmmakers like Elia Suleiman and Jim Jarmusch underscores its cinematic quality. The evening promises a meditative yet urgent soundscape that navigates memory, longing and tenderness.

15 – 27 September

Directed by Rémi Dufay, D’amour et d’eau fraîche is a stage adventure that celebrates movement, friendship and the unforeseen. Rémi Dufay and his ensemble probe margins and fragile frames, staging situations that slip away in a deliberately unsteady ceremony. The production blurs reality and magic, carrying the audience through a joyful, rocambolic wandering. A lively, generous performance that refuses stillness and favours continual transformation.

Led by the folk ensemble Ensemble Lafken with singers Pancho González, Christian Goza and José‑Luis Musetti and featuring Peruvian musician Orlando Rodríguez, this program frames popular and folk songs as pages of identity. Repertoires from Patagonia to the Caribbean illuminate texts by Victor Jara, Violeta Parra and others, while occasional French poetry readings punctuate the set. The performance balances lyrical intimacy and communal energy, inviting audience-contributed poems on selected evenings to deepen the cultural dialogue.

A darkly comic solo play about obsession and domestic chaos. When Michel finds a rare record he has long sought, he prepares a perfect hour to listen — but family, neighbours and a drip that will wreck the disc steadily intrude. The piece skewers selfishness with sharp humour and precise staging, combining intimate realism and heightened farce to probe human smallness and the desperate desire for solitude.

Pling-Klang is a physical theatre duo by Étienne Manceau and Mathieu Despoisse that turns the iconic IKEA KALLAX shelf into a mischievous stage partner. Building furniture becomes an acrobatic and comic ritual: screws are tightened and loosened, objects are juggled and bodies find precarious balance. Through precise object manipulation, deadpan humour and inventive acrobatics, the piece reveals the small catastrophes and tender compromises of couple life, combining slapstick with intimate emotion.
