La Bâtie Festival celebrates its 50th edition from 25 August to 13 September 2026! Over three weeks, theatre, dance, concerts, performances, circus and parties will take over venues across Geneva and the region. Scène Vagabonde’s seventh edition brings a compact program of contemporary theatre and music, presenting three contrasting stage works — “Par le bout du nez”, “Quadrille” and “Prima facie” — alongside a concert by Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp as part of La Bâtie-Festival de Genève. Across intimate stagings the festival favors inventive direction, close ensemble interplay and a balance of wit and intensity, offering encounters that privilege physical presence, tonal variety and rigorous dramaturgy.

8 – 9 September

Choreographer and performer Marco D’Agostin fuses scientific lecture, musical comedy and intimate confession in Astéroïde. Posing as a paleontologist, he handles ancient bones while tracing the extinction of dinosaurs, but the scholarly frame cracks as memory, desire and song spill out. A solo that shifts between popular science, theatre and Broadway‑style numbers, it explores loss and survival with wit, physical precision and theatrical exuberance. Produced with Piccolo Teatro di Milano.

8 – 13 September

Choreographed by Saša Asentić, Le Sacre du printemps is a reimagined Stravinsky landmark performed by the inclusive company Per.Art. Drawing on historical versions by the Ballets Russes, Maurice Béjart and Pina Bausch and enriched with the voices of disabled poets from Serbia, Iran, Ukraine and the United States, the seven dancers invert the original narrative. The staging transforms ritual into a manifesto of survival, blending physical rigor, collective solidarity and poetic testimony to renew the score as a cry for life.

Led by guitarist Christophe Godin, this high-energy rock evening blends blistering riffs, searing solos and communal jamming. Godin and his team create an open-stage atmosphere where seasoned players and eager guests trade fiery phrases over a punchy rhythm section. Sparse staging, bold lighting and raw sound design foreground the music’s physicality, shifting from tight grooves to explosive climaxes. The experience is generous and unpredictable, driven by virtuosity, improvisation and shared joy.

8 – 10 September

An emblematic stand-up showcase celebrating the club’s ninth anniversary, presenting the best of Romand humour across three nights. Eighteen talented comedians alternate on stage in an intimate, vaulted-cellar setting, delivering sharp observations, playful storytelling and rapid-fire sketches. The programme blends established voices and emerging talent, shifting between satirical edge and warm, observational comedy to create an electric, convivial atmosphere.
