Loops on Ice blends choreographed skating, live chamber music and electronic loops into a kinetic, hypnotic performance. The Orchestre de Chambre de Genève weaves repetitive, circular motifs while dancer and skater Stephen Thompson shapes tempo through continuous choreography on the ice. Electronic artist YMNK adds modular synths and homemade machines, injecting a danceable, raw energy. Co-produced with Festival de la Bâtie, the piece explores momentum, circulation and ecstatic repetition.
“Couleur 8” explores the idea of existing at the margins: the place from which one sees no one and is not seen. Without familiar reference points or comparisons, the piece invites spectators to impose their own rhythm and to question the strength of marginality. Sparse staging and attentive pacing create an intimate, contemplative atmosphere where movement, silence and timing shape perception and unsettle expectations.

La Bâtie Festival celebrates its 50th edition from 25 August to 13 September 2026! Over three weeks, theatre, dance, concerts, performances, circus and parties will take over venues across Geneva and the region. This anniversary edition also introduces Le Béaba, a new open-air hub at the Musée Ariana, bringing together free events, performances and concerts in a lively, convivial setting.
Choreographed by Léo Lérus, Gounouj in situ is an intimate, physical dance for four performers that evokes fragile, living landscapes. Rooted in gwoka rhythms and inspired by the creole concept of bousyè, the work blends traditional and contemporary vocabularies to explore vulnerability, transformation and resistance. Bodies shift between human and amphibious states across a sensory soundscape of bird song and marine breath, transforming the stage into a moving ecosystem and proposing a fragile possibility of new balance.
Created and performed by Diederik Peeters, Confabulations blurs the boundary between reality and illusion. Playing a psychiatrist, Peeters uses archival material, historical narratives and personal testimonies to probe memory, perception and confabulation. The staging mixes shifting visual worlds, forensic references and moments of hallucination to produce an unsettling, lyrical investigation of psychiatry, neurology and neurodivergent experience. Second instalment of a trilogy following Apparitions (2018), the piece invites a vertiginous reflection on truth and remembrance.

American guitarist, singer and producer Josh Smith brings virtuosic blues guitar and gritty vocals, his style steeped in contemporary and classic blues. Acclaimed by Guitar World among the top twenty living blues guitarists, he blends roaring solos with soulful phrasing. Sharing the bill, Amaury Faivre offers an intimate blues‑folk one‑man show, combining guitar, voice, harmonica, loops and stompbox. Together they create a night of raw energy and tender moments, alternating electric fire and acoustic intimacy.

Presented as part of the fiftieth edition of Festival de la Bâtie, this late-stage production by Robert Wilson draws its creative power from the polymorphic poetry of Fernando Pessoa. Like a magic mirror, Pessoa – Since I’ve Been Me illuminates the nuances of Wilson’s singular aesthetic: meticulous stagecraft, visionary fantasy and boundless imagination. Seven virtuosic performers, including Maria de Meideros, embody Pessoa and his heteronyms in a poetic, visually arresting mise en scène.
