Douglas Vanille is an intergalactic DJ performance merging live indie dance rhythms with dark disco textures. After fleeing the destruction of his home planet Kiwi32, the solitary DJ pilots a tiny vessel while pursued and battered by cosmic hazards. On stage the audience becomes his crew and the room a cockpit, guided by propulsive grooves and luminous sound design. Jeremy Ratib performs material from his album Backlot Country, a hazy window onto an adolescence in Los Angeles where Halloween spectres, bushfires that redden Pacific sunsets and empty pools echo post‑Y2K nostalgia amid kickflip cadences. Rooted in folk songwriting, the music unfolds as homemade psychedelic country‑rock emo, intimate and evocative. Ratib is joined by Valentin Liechti (drums, vocals), Robin Girod (bass, guitar, vocals), Flavie Ndam (saxophone, vocals), Lorraine Dinkel (guitar, vocals) and Lucas Churet (sound).
Claudine (j’aime pas l’bonheur) is a re-creation by Marjolaine Minot that probes the ambivalence of happiness through intimate theatrical language. The piece blends restrained physicality and lyrical monologue to map memory, longing and domestic disquiet. Minimal scenic devices and attentive sound design carve spaces of emotion, while a small ensemble negotiates shifts between humour and melancholy. The production favours fragile gestures and precise rhythms to evoke an uneasy, poetic atmosphere.
