La Bâtie Festival — 50th Edition

La Bâtie Festival celebrates its 50th edition from 25 August to 13 September 2026! Over three weeks, theatre, dance, concerts, performances, circus and parties will take over venues across Geneva and the region. This anniversary edition also introduces Le Béaba, a new open-air hub at the Musée Ariana, bringing together free events, performances and concerts in a lively, convivial setting.

Piano Festival Geneva 2026 brings together acclaimed pianists and emerging talents for a celebration of the piano’s rich repertoire, from classical masterpieces to contemporary works. 5 – 6 September

Neverland is a chamber opera directed by Julien Chavaz with music by Sarah Nemtsov and performed with Ensemble Contrechamps. The piece inverts the Peter Pan myth, presenting an unsettling child who refuses to grow and becomes trapped in a frozen eternity. Nemtsov’s score blends whispered voices, dense orchestral textures and electronic fragments to shape a fragile, tectonic sound world. Staging, lighting and costumes transform a shifting house where memory, fear and metamorphosis are embodied.

Sunday 6 September, 19:00

Swiss mezzo-soprano Marina Viotti and American pianist Todd Camburn form a close musical partnership, presenting a programme that juxtaposes Wagner’s Wesendonck Lieder with Chausson’s Poème de l’amour et de la mer. The recital also includes Duparc’s intimate mélodies, Poulenc’s nuanced songs and a brief solo piano Improvisation, plus chansons by Jacques Brel and Léo Ferré in an arrangement by Guy‑François Leuenberger commissioned for the occasion. Gregory Rauber provides a contextual introduction. The evening unfolds with oceanic textures, luminous phrasing and intense lyric intimacy.

28 August – 13 September

Cirque Knie presents a family-oriented, large-scale circus spectacle combining athletic acrobatics, equestrian artistry and choreographed variety numbers. The programme balances fast-paced technical acts and poetic interludes, with careful staging, lighting and live musical accompaniment to create moments of wonder and humour. Suitable for children from four years upwards, the show prioritises accessibility and comfort while offering an immersive, theatrical atmosphere that blends tradition and contemporary circus aesthetics.
