La Nuit Transfigurée

Contrechamps presents a program pairing a newly commissioned work by Dzovinar Mikirditsian for string trio with Arnold Schoenberg’s Verklärte Nacht arranged for string sextet. This dynamic musical-theatrical piece is brought to life by director Daniel Kramer and conductor Titus Engel, featuring an impressive and diverse cast, including Robin Adams, Brenda Rae, and legendary guitarist Mike Keneally. Known for his iconic rock career, Zappa presents an experimental and psychedelic work that blends opera, rock, and contemporary classical music. “200 Motels” offers a chaotic and extravagant journey across the United States, mirroring the wild lives of Zappa and the Mothers of Invention.

Spirale Workshops 1 and 2 showcase a thirty-year practice of transmission, research and intergenerational exchange. Under the direction of Michele Millner (Atelier 1) and Cathy Sarr with Patrick Mohr (Atelier 2), the project blends devised creation and collective laboratories. Atelier 1 develops a decolonial, antipatriarchal and radical laboratory that dialogues with figures such as Lady Macbeth and Nina. Participants include Marie Bondolfi, Yves Cerf, Mael Godinat and Jeanne Pasquier.

Caustic Comedy Night gathers four stand-up comedians from Switzerland, France and Belgium in a tight, high-energy evening of observational and satirical humour. The show alternates rising talents and seasoned performers, combining sharp social commentary, playful anecdotes and improvised exchanges. Minimal staging keeps the focus on timing and delivery, creating an intimate atmosphere where rhythm and punchlines drive the experience. The programme favours quick, varied sets that sustain momentum and surprise.

Violencia Rivas is a brazen stage persona created by Léa Pohlhammer that channels a fictional Argentine yéyé singer claiming to have invented punk in the late sixties. On stage Pohlhammer and Adrien Barazzone form a combustible duo: she as the diva, he as her devoted companion. Julien Jaillot directs the actor work; Florence Minder collaborated on dramaturgy; Fernando de Miguel supplies music and sound while Pedro Saborido and Fernando de Miguel provide song texts. Aline Courvoisier designs costumes and Danielle Milovic and Loane Ruga the lighting. Coproduction: F.A.B Force Prod., Venedig Meer.
