La Force de la Farce

Created and performed by François Herpeux, La Force de la Farce catapults the audience back to June 1977. Herpeux inhabits Patrice Laforêt, a hapless comic determined to catalogue every form of human humour and send it into space. Joined by Mich‑L, a first-generation artificial intelligence, the show blends farce and satire into a meta-theatrical quest that interrogates comedy, failure and salvation. Its playful, inventive staging pays wry homage to the Voyager Golden Record while exploring absurdity and human resilience.

Two short plays by Anton Chekhov staged by Tibor Ockenfels and Flavie Tapparel, presented as compact dramatic machines where romantic comedy masks escalating confrontations between desire, affection and material interest. Performances rely on precise physical timing, terse exchanges and a lean, playful design to reveal the simmering violence behind courtship rituals. The three actors — Estelle Bridet, Matteo Prandi and Raphaël Vachoux — inhabit heightened character types that shift between farce and darker comic truth, creating a sharply observed, kinetic evening.

Double Jeu is a sharp, playful improvisation show built around strategy, split-second choices and mutual misdirection. Each performer receives a secret mission and must weave it discreetly into the action, turning every scene into a live game of influence, bluff and comic escalation. The result is fast, unpredictable theatre where the ensemble’s timing, listening and inventiveness keep the audience guessing until the very last exchange.

Text by Erri De Luca. Directed by Barbara Baker and F‑X Fernandez‑Cavada, Impossible unfolds after a man falls from a steep trail in the Dolomites. The piece moves between bitterness and tenderness, exploring a grief born of ongoing oppression that resists closure. Performers Tejus Menon and Davia Spain cocreate a physical language informed by discreet eroticism. Lighting by Tiki and costumes by Arsen Aeby shape a tense, tactile atmosphere. Co-produced by Emergentia.

Directed by Eléonore Bonah and staged by scenographer Maria Clara Castioni, CHRÜSIMÜSI transforms Adelheid Duvanel’s terse, poetic fragments into a multilingual theatrical tapestry. Performers Eléonore Bonah and Maria Clara Castioni inhabit hypersensitive, marginal characters whose everyday gestures oscillate between absurdity and tenderness. Sparse staging and a careful interplay of voice and silence highlight Duvanel’s Kafkaesque intimacy, while language shifts (French, German, Italian) create a fragile, dreamlike atmosphere that balances humour and quiet despair, celebrating stubborn acts of resistance.
