Louis Cattelat blends trashy humour, deadpan delivery and poetic metaphors to probe what connects us on Earth and among the stars. Inspired by the Arecibo radiotelescope and its attempt to reach other civilizations, his show turns the stage into a space of attentive listening and self-mockery. Requiem brings Agneta & Cie’s dancers together in a sculpted exploration of connection, sound and movement. Led by choreographer and pedagogue Guillaume Siard, the junior Area Jeune Ballet de Genève responds to a contemporary exhibition by turning visual motifs into movement. The young ensemble investigates ways of seeing, using layers and superposition as a choreographic device. Scène Vagabonde’s seventh edition brings a compact program of contemporary theatre and music, presenting three contrasting stage works — “Par le bout du nez”, “Quadrille” and “Prima facie” — alongside a concert by Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp as part of La Bâtie-Festival de Genève. Choreographed by Valeska Romero Curiqueo, Pewma (Mapudungun for “dream”) weaves dance, performance, live sound and poetry to trace transmissions between bodies. The piece confronts peripheral, wounded and violently marked identities through ritualized gestures and sensual collisions, invoking Venus as a figure of omen, destruction and rebirth. Live violin, synthesizers and vocals shape a tense, luminous soundscape as bodies dissolve and reconstitute, staging desire, friction and collective memory.
Amandine Casadamont and Madeleine Leclair present a live sound creation using vinyl records drawn from their distinct yet resonant collections. The performance weaves musical traditions of the Tout-monde with experimental, concrete and ambient practices, exploring texture, repetition and montage. Intimate and attentive, the set focuses on listening as a shared sculpted experience, moving between ritual echoes and electronic abstraction through delicate turntable gestures and live manipulation.
