An evening invitation to experience museums in unexpected ways, À vos marques, prêts? Musées! presents a programme that reimagines collection display and public encounter. Visitors encounter painting, sculpture, installation, photography and time-based media alongside talks, performances and guided perspectives that foreground hidden narratives and curatorial experimentation. The event explores how objects and display practices reveal histories, social tensions and personal stories, inviting reflection on what museums conserve, interpret and transform.

Carlos Schwabe’s retrospective traces the symbolism and pictorial imagination that defined his practice. Trained in Geneva, Schwabe is celebrated for evocative book illustrations and ambitious pictorial compositions that blend allegory, myth and musical ideas. The exhibition presents paintings, illustrations and preparatory drawings drawn from public and private Swiss and French collections, exploring technique, materiality and the spiritual and literary currents that shaped his visual language around the turn of the twentieth century.

Out of the Blue: Heidi Bjørgan & Kari Dyrdal

Out of the Blue brings together Norwegian ceramicist Heidi Bjørgan and textile artist Kari Dyrdal in a sustained dialogue between ceramics and woven textiles. Bjørgan reworks familiar jug and vessel archetypes until they appear melted or imploded, using multiple firings and distinctive glazes to expose cracks, shifts and unpredictable reactions. Dyrdal examines memory, pattern and structure through handwoven, hand‑dyed pieces that marry traditional craft with digital processes, yielding tactile and conceptual depth.

Painter André Kasper revisits classical and contemporary traditions in a body of oil paintings, watercolours and works on paper shaped by extended stays in Rome. His canvases — landscapes, ruins and figurative scenes — favour composed structures and a luminous handling that anchors each work’s narrative. Accustomed to large formats, he has recently explored smaller, more impulsive studies that foreground colour purity and gesture. The exhibition reflects Kasper’s dialogue with Caravaggio, Corot and Flemish affinities while tracing personal and art-historical continuities.

Marie Ducaté presents Simultanés, an installation that transposes the spirit and traces of her studio into a theatre of objects. Combining ceramics, tracing paper, watercolor, textile and glass, the work sits at the intersection of pop culture and art history. The installation foregrounds a chromatic range from vivid colour to transparency and investigates the sensuality of materials, inviting close attention to texture, surface and the intimate relationships between form and materiality. Iris Leroyer presents Rez:urgence, a series of material-based works exploring contemporary urgencies—ecological, social and philosophical. Working through matter and its memories, Leroyer probes tipping points between entropic decay and regenerative processes, where the living oscillates between collapse and resurgence. The exhibition gathers tactile, process-oriented pieces that reveal histories embedded in materials and invite reflection on emergence, imbalance and the possible forms of renewal. It forms a chapter of the artist’s Opus Carbone project at the intersection of art and ecology.

Zoe A. Keller and Batia Suter reactivate the Eranos Archive in a collaborative project that blends critical essay and photographic installation. Keller’s research interrogates archetypal image systems and proposes the concept of the “anarchetype” to unsettle fixed classifications, while Suter juxtaposes historical Eranos images with contemporary-period photographs. Together they examine ideological contradictions and heterogeneous visual encounters of the interwar archive, opening a fictional conceptual field that foregrounds the archive’s historical vulnerability and the politics of visual classification.
