Views of Africa: Portraits and Life Stories

Stéphane Ducret presents Being Matters, an immersive series of recent paintings that map psyche and the living realm. The presentation gathers seven large to very large oil paintings on linen alongside a series of small-format works on wood. Through layered surfaces, deliberate errors and a dense pictorial process, Ducret explores invisible mechanisms of thought, memory and introspection. Artists Ana D and Noora K present a dreamlike photographic project probing transparency, memory and perception. Through layered photographs, lenticular prints and sculptural extensions of the image, the duo uses superposition, diffusion and formal alteration to reveal overlapping temporalities and interior images.
The works deploy spatial configurations where fragments of lived experience shift, associate and recombine, positioning photography as a territory of projection and transformation. Curated by Myriam Bongard‑Stadler, Dreams navigates the border between sleep and wakefulness.

18 September – 31 October

Swiss artist Pierre André Ferrand presents a restrained body of work that examines the conditions of image-making and the illusionistic nature of painting. The show brings together oils on canvas and works on paper, employing a deliberate economy of means, pared visual codes, and an intimate awareness of artistic limits. For more than thirty years his practice has pursued an intellectual and spiritual enquiry, inviting a slow, contemplative viewing that seeks out potential and subtle perceptual shifts.

15 September – 31 October

Martin Hyde presents an exhibition examining the relationships between painting, object, ceramics, design and poetry. His practice blurs boundaries between disciplines, producing works that sit between painted surfaces, ceramic forms and functional design, often scaled to engage the surrounding architecture. The show presents sculptural paintings and crafted objects that consider materiality, repetition and the poetics of domestic forms and scale.

3 – 25 October

An exhibition charting Chêne-Bougeries’s evolution from past to present, drawing on archival photographs, maps, and community memories. The display brings together historical documents, contemporary photography and mixed-media installations to explore urban development, landscape change and local identity. Through curated sequences and interpretive labels, the show considers how everyday life and collective memory shape place. The works use photography, archival material and site-responsive interventions to reveal layers of history embedded in the community.

16 September – 10 October

Pierre La Police presents a retrospective of his work, spanning contemporary comics, digital art, installations, video and short film. Renowned for an absurdist sensibility and skewed humour, his practice blends hand-drawn sequences with experimental visual techniques and digital processes. The show traces recurring motifs—playful disruption, narrative fragmentation and visual experimentation—offering a layered survey of an artist who has expanded the language of comic art into installation and moving image.
