Bernex is a municipality in the Canton of Geneva that functions as a local civic and cultural hub. The communal administration organises cultural programming, supports community events, and manages public spaces and local facilities for exhibitions, performances, workshops and civic gatherings, fostering cultural life and neighbourhood participation.
Iris Macculi, an amateur photographer from the Saint-Mathieu neighbourhood, presents a series of portraits and everyday scenes captured during years spent in Africa. Her images trace intimate moments, expressive gazes and gestures, and candid exchanges that counter prevailing media narratives. The exhibition offers a contemplative exploration of the continent’s visual diversity and human complexity, encouraging viewers to appreciate personal stories and the nuanced everyday realities that shape African life.
