Stark black-and-white staging and chiaroscuro lighting evoke twilight and old horror films, while a persistent, slicing fog thickens the atmosphere. The venerable Dr Jekyll’s unsettling experiments unfold in a late-19th-century London laboratory, and his circle is drawn into mounting anguish as transformations accelerate.
