An emblematic stand-up showcase celebrating the club’s ninth anniversary, presenting the best of Romand humour across three nights. Eighteen talented comedians alternate on stage in an intimate, vaulted-cellar setting, delivering sharp observations, playful storytelling and rapid-fire sketches. The programme blends established voices and emerging talent, shifting between satirical edge and warm, observational comedy to create an electric, convivial atmosphere.

Choreographed by Christos Papadopoulos, My Fierce Ignorant Step gathers ten bodies whose mounting breath becomes the show’s engine. The piece translates performers’ respiration into kinetic waves and layered soundscapes, dialoguing with the contemporary music of Mikis Theodorakis. Drawing on the choral pulse of ancient tragedy, the work collapses collective Hellenic memory into intimate reveries — the impulse of beginnings, the buoyancy of first encounters and the spontaneous spark of early laughter. The staging is physical, precise and visceral.
Christophe Godin and his team invite participants to take the stage, unleash roaring riffs, and trade blazing solos in an evening of raw live energy. By Anton Tchekhov, L’Ours et la Demande en mariage is staged by Tibor Ockenfels and Flavie Tapparel in a spirited production that turns comedy into a vivid duel. The direction highlights the clash between conventions and desire, while set and lighting carve intimate, rhythmical confrontations. Through absurd yet touching quarrels the actors reveal tenderness beneath pride, exploring marriage, social rules and human foibles. La Bâtie Festival celebrates its 50th edition from 25 August to 13 September 2026! Over three weeks, theatre, dance, concerts, performances, circus and parties will take over venues across Geneva and the region. This anniversary edition also introduces Le Béaba, a new open-air hub at the Musée Ariana, bringing together free events, performances and concerts in a lively, convivial setting.
