Beninese-born artist Roméo Mivekannin presents a series of paintings that investigate intimacy, memory and cultural identity. The exhibition’s architecture evokes the commercial arcades of the 19th century, a pivotal era for button industrialization. Curated by Claire FitzGerald, the exhibition is supported by the Swiss Fashion Museum and showcases never-before-seen pieces from several prestigious collections.

Their Crops, Our Roots – Portraits of Women in Geneva’s Countryside

Photographer Bertrand Carlier presents a series of large-format portraits that foreground women working across Geneva’s agricultural landscape. The photographs depict market gardeners, winegrowers, fruit growers, livestock farmers and cellar managers in their working environments, using natural light and documentary framing.
The project explores gender, labour and continuity, revealing how women’s labour shapes rural economies and biocultural traditions. Set against the UN’s International Year of the Woman Farmer 2026, the work invites renewed attention to the diversity of skills and trajectories within contemporary Geneva agriculture.

International Ceramic Competition — 20th Edition

Selected works from the 20th Concours international de céramique present contemporary approaches to clay across functional and sculptural practices. The exhibition gathers emerging and established makers whose pieces range from wheel-thrown vessels and hand-built forms to experimental sculptural objects and site-aware installations. Emphasis is placed on technique, surface treatment and material research, revealing diverse glazing, firing and modeling strategies. Curatorial selection highlights formal innovation and dialogue between tradition and experimentation within contemporary ceramic practice.

Ianne Kenfack Kitio continues her inquiry into representations of Black femininity and the construction of identity. In this photographic work, produced as a cyanotype, she treats the image as a space of transformation rather than a fixed depiction. The piece links material and concept: its blue evokes Ndop indigo textiles of the Grassfields and the artist’s Bamiléké heritage, while the cyanotype’s gradual emergence mirrors identity as an ongoing process of thresholds and metamorphosis.

Xinyi Hu – Between Form and Use, Where Gestures Begin

Xinyi Hu transforms familiar domestic objects—mirrors and tables—into evolving ceramic forms that visitors are invited to activate. Between sculpture and utility, her modular pieces recalibrate everyday gestures: looking, gathering, leaning. The works demand bodily adaptation and invent new uses, making the moment of the artwork’s emergence depend on embodied engagement. Through tactility and careful material language, Hu examines presence, relationality and the thresholds where form becomes action.
