This second chapter of Sonia Zannettacci’s exhibition revisits the legacy of Nouveau Réalisme through works by Arman, César, Christo, Dufrêne, Klein, Niki de Saint Phalle, Rotella, Spoerri, Tinguely and Villeglé. Emerging from the consumer city, their practices challenged traditional painting and sculpture by presenting the object itself. The exhibition reflects on appropriation, accumulation and transformation, following Pierre Restany’s idea of a poetic recycling of urban, industrial and advertising reality.
