Stranger Strings is a playful, pedagogical concert for children performed by a clever string quartet from GECA. The program travels across time, juxtaposing repertoire from Mozart to contemporary composer Julia Wolfe, and mixes varied pieces with inventive staging. The musicians engage the audience through challenges and collaborative tasks, turning listening into an active, exploratory experience that encourages curiosity, musical discovery and collective participation.
Coordinated by Stan Breynaert, this evening presents two PrePro student projects by Esteban and Gabriel, each revealing distinct musical universes. A darkly comic solo play about obsession and domestic chaos. When Michel finds a rare record he has long sought, he prepares a perfect hour to listen — but family, neighbours and a drip that will wreck the disc steadily intrude. The piece skewers selfishness with sharp humour and precise staging, combining intimate realism and heightened farce to probe human smallness and the desperate desire for solitude.
