Quinze

Booking Required

For its 15th anniversary, espace_L presents QUINZE, an exhibition shaped by the gallery’s ongoing dialogue between Brazil and Europe. Rather than a retrospective, it gathers artists whose works trace encounters, discoveries, and turning points in its history. Inspired by the idea of a wild garden, the exhibition lets distinct practices grow side by side, creating unexpected connections through painting, photography, and contemporary visual languages across generations and geographies.

Opening: Thursday 12 November, 18:00 (Nuit des Bains)

Rue des Bains 23,

30 October – 5 December

Artists Emma Souharce and Lauren Huret present an audiovisual window installation born from a year of collaboration and response to the large wildfires devastating forests in south‑west France and the Basque Country. Combining sound, manipulated recordings and projected imagery, the work stages feverish, delirious visions of apocalyptic birds. The sound score reworks the Basque song Txoria Txori (Hegoak) by Joxean Artze, evoking resistance and memory. Curated by Elise Lammer with institutional support. Curator: Elise Lammer. With the support of Pro Helvetia, the City of Geneva, and the Republic and Canton of Geneva.

Artist Carmen-Sibha Keiso presents a continuation of her exhibition, featuring new works that explore ambivalence and the bystander’s gaze. The show includes sculptural and installation pieces alongside printed editions by Fabrice Gygi, Roman Signer and Marie Sacconi. A recently published volume by Keiso accompanies the presentation, extending the exhibition’s themes into a printed, multi-voiced format. 8 October – 28 November

Abdul Rahman Katanani presents a contemplative exhibition curated by Barbara Polla that gathers artistic, philosophical and literary propositions to rethink the world and imagine solutions. The centrepiece is the drawings series «The Story Portals», created for this presentation. Through narratively charged drawings, Katanani probes memory, migration and collective imaginaries, inviting reflection on how visual storytelling can articulate ethical and social alternatives. The work balances poetic gesture and rigorous conceptual inquiry.

Opening: 8 October

17 September – 13 December

Curators Ghalas Charara and Rita Elhajj present the second part of a two‑part exhibition that shapes a liminal space between listening and gesture. Through acts of defunctionalization, duplication, displacement, fragmentation and sabotage, the participating artists generate potentials for action and reclaim rhythmic breaths, steps and voices. Works from the host collection sit alongside invited pieces to evoke survivance, mourning and resistance, where memory becomes an embrace enacted by bodies searching for—sometimes finding—ancestral gestures through repetition, dance and semantic shifts.

Opening: Thursday 17 September, 18:00

3 September – 30 November

Votive brings together Rachel Labastie and Robert Montgomery in an exhibition exploring desire, belief, memory and shared dreams for the future. Through sculpture, poetry, light, and site-specific installations, the artists reflect on peace, human connection, and the transformative power of art.

Opening: Wednesday 3 September at 18:00.
