Written and directed by Wajdi Mouawad, Le Serment d’Europe transforms Greek myth—Médéa and the Phoenician princess Europe—into a contemporary tragedy about silence and the transmission of trauma. A sparse, almost bare stage hosts an international cast who alternate in French, Greek, English and Russian (surtitles), weaving past and present into a tense, intimate drama.
