Le Grand Chantier

Le Grand Chantier is the flagship workshop of the TMG that invites puppet enthusiasts to explore all stages of creating a performance, from fabrication to stagecraft, across five intensive weekends. Led by Olivier Carrel with expert contributors, the programme examines construction, manipulation, writing and directing while emphasizing practical skills and collective creation. Participants develop a piece through guided exercises, collaborative rehearsals and scenographic work. Open to participants aged 12 and up.

An audiovisual guided tour examines the life and work of Jean-Jacques Rousseau, arguing his writings continue to provoke contemporary debate. Through seven thematic niches the parcours confronts Rousseau’s paradoxes—his claims about nature, society and freedom—and invites visitors to question present assumptions. The session explores how his contradictions illuminate modern political and moral dilemmas, revealing why Rousseau remains a catalyst for critical reflection.

4 January – 5 april

An audiovisual guided trail immerses visitors in the life and thought of Jean-Jacques Rousseau, examining how his ideas continue to provoke debate. Through seven thematic niches the experience confronts Rousseau’s paradoxes and invites critical reflection on themes such as individual freedom, equality, education and civic life. Participants gain contextual insight into his writings and discover how eighteenth century tensions resonate with contemporary social and political questions.

Pierre Béguin leads monthly discussions on classic literature, linking timeless texts to today’s world through lively, open conversation.

Pierre Béguin taught literature for nearly 30 years at Collège Calvin in Geneva. Born in Geneva, he holds a degree in literature and a postgraduate diploma in psycholinguistics. A passionate traveler, he has devoted the past two decades primarily to writing.  He is the author of around ten novels, including Terre de personne (Prix Schiller 2005), Vous ne connaîtrez ni le jour ni l’heure (Prix Chronos selection, 2013), Condamné au bénéfice du doute (Prix Edouard Rod 2016), and La scandaleuse Madame B. (2020).  His most recent novel, Au nom du feu (2022), was shortlisted for the RTS Listeners’ Prize, the Lettres Frontière Prize, and the Rambert Prize.

8 – 17 January

Paola Pagani and Jonas, theatre professionals, lead a month-long creative programme with participants from diverse backgrounds. They combine theatre workshops and writing exercises to develop performance skills and collective authorship.

The project investigates what a ‘territory’ means—physical borders, language, memory, music and scent—and how these inner landscapes are inhabited and shared. Participants stage and recite personal narratives, creating literal and imagined maps that vividly reveal belonging, identity and communal connection.
