Choreographed by Trajal Harrell, M2M reimagines a crossing of postmodern Judson Church minimalism with the exuberant voguing balls of Harlem. Conceived for three dancers, the piece fuses formal restraint and performative flamboyance, foregrounding jazz, funk and R&B inflections within an improvisational dance language. Harrell’s staging negotiates historical narrative and speculative fiction, shifting between precise postmodern phrasing and vivid gesture to evoke community, desire and the politics of movement.
