The Marielle Pinsard Company presents La Médaille ou À chacun son monstre  (The Medal or To Each Their Monster) at Maison Saint-Gervais, inspired by Marie-Thérèse Picard’s children’s voodoo tale. This imaginative performance features giant origami, live drawing, songs, sound effects, paper-cut scenes, masks, shadow play, and ventriloquism. The story follows a child who rescues another from an underwater monster, leading to a friendship and playful, whimsical strategies to conquer fears. With its vibrant and inventive staging, the production invites the audience to dive into the characters’ world.

With humor and camaraderie, the two performers explore themes of love while assembling a shelf, offering a hilarious and heartfelt show that can be enjoyed solo or with friends.

La Bâtie-Festival de Genève is a multidisciplinary festival in the Geneva region, featuring a vibrant mix of music, dance, theater, and performances over 18 days. Spanning more than forty venues, it offers around fifty events showcasing both national and international artists. The festival invites audiences to explore current cultural trends and engage with diverse artistic perspectives.

9 – 11 September

Pling-Klang is an engaging performance featuring Mathieu Despoisse and Étienne Manceau, two circus artists and friends, assembling a shelf while playfully dismantling the usual narratives of romance. Through this shared activity, they humorously and tenderly delve into conversations and musings about love, offering a unique and delightful reflection to enjoy on your own or with others.

The Leipzig Symphony, under the baton of Knut Andreas, offers an exciting evening dedicated to Spanish classical music, featuring works by Bizet, Giménez, Falla, Sarasate, Strauss, Rimski-Korsakov, and Ravel. Violin soloist Antonio Palanović will take center stage. The program promises fiery rhythms and intense emotions, culminating with Ravel’s renowned “Boléro,” celebrated for its mesmerizing crescendo.

2 – 14 September

“État Sauvage” offers a theatrical experience where humor and discomfort intertwine. It follows two men, referred to as the One and the Other, who meet in a park transformed into a wild space, challenging violence and reason. The play delves into our inner barbarism and the delicacy of civilization through compelling performances, highlighted by intricate lighting and evocative music. Stéphane Jaubertie’s script is powerful and contemporary, crafting a disturbingly mesmerizing human tableau. The production has been awarded the first regional prize from Rhône-Alpes at the FESTHEA festival and closed the Avignon IF festival.
