James Webb introduces a captivating sound installation on the shores of Lake Geneva. Through his project “A series of personal questions addressed to Lac Léman”, the artist engages the lake in a dialogue that invites the audience to project their own answers as he poses questions without expecting a reply. Utilizing strategically placed speakers in public spaces, the installation alters the perception of the surroundings, inspiring fresh interpretations and new stories.

KorSonoR is a festival-exhibition that explores the intersection of sound and visual arts, curated by Olivier Kaeser. Focusing on the bodily, social, technological, architectural, and natural dimensions of sound, it features performances, installations, videos, films, and discussions. This edition showcases 11 projects with over 50 participants and nearly 50 events hosted in various partner venues.
Highlights at Le Commun include works by Dimitri de Perrot, Gabriela Löffel, Marie Losier, and Marina Rosenfeld. The festival provides a shared, immersive listening experience, emphasizing the power of sound in conveying emotions and memories.
The MEG, Musée d’ethnographie de Genève, showcases the immersive exhibition Afrosonica – Paysages sonores, which delves into the significance of music and sound in African societies and their diasporas. Featuring instruments, sound archives, and contemporary installations, the exhibition highlights the ability of sound to communicate, connect, convey knowledge and emotions, and evoke memories.
International artist Iris Leroyer presents OPUS CARBONE, a groundbreaking exhibition that examines the impact of human activity on living organisms. Through charcoal sculptures, paintings made from carbon-based natural materials, and installations, the work engages the public with the current ecological crisis, prompting reflection on environmental issues and our relationship with nature.
