Join the opening of Mammoth steps. One for Kevin, two for Lisa by Chris Lovasoa Kauffmann, co-produced with the Swiss Cultural Center in Paris and Béa Foundation for Young Artists. Convergent Lines at Galerie L’Appartement showcases a dynamic blend of expressive canvases by Mariana Oushiro alongside pieces by Jojo Corväiá, Maarten Vrolijk, and Marius Ritiu. This exhibition delves into the crossroads of art, sculpture, and design, emphasizing the role of materials, processes, and architectural influences. Marius Ritiu’s monumental sculptures, Jojo Corväiá’s meditative ceramics, and Maarten Vrolijk’s delicate lighting fixtures and vases engage in a dialogue with Mariana Oushiro’s gestural and geometric paintings. Together, these works create a choreography of contrasts, balancing heaviness and lightness, permanence and movement, structure and spontaneity.

The exhibition delves into the realism, drama, and emotional intensity of 17th-century Dutch artists influenced by Caravaggio. The works of Gerrit van Honthorst and Judith Leyster exemplify the bold use of light and shadow to capture everyday life with theatrical intensity. Their contributions left a significant impact on the art of the era, paving the way for new expressions of the human condition.

The exhibition invites you on a journey through anatomical models, casts, waxworks, and illustrated antique books. Modern tools like microscopy, medical imaging, and 3D printing uncover the inner workings of organs, currently utilized by medical students at the University of Geneva. This is a collaboration with the University of Geneva. Some images may not be suitable for younger or sensitive audiences.

KorSonoR is a festival-exhibition that explores the intersection of sound and visual arts, curated by Olivier Kaeser. Focusing on the bodily, social, technological, architectural, and natural dimensions of sound, it features performances, installations, videos, films, and discussions. This edition showcases 11 projects with over 50 participants and nearly 50 events hosted in various partner venues.

Highlights at Le Commun include works by Dimitri de Perrot, Gabriela Löffel, Marie Losier, and Marina Rosenfeld. The festival provides a shared, immersive listening experience, emphasizing the power of sound in conveying emotions and memories.

The exhibition “Sauvages” at the Cité Library invites visitors to delve into the behind-the-scenes of Claude Barras’s film. It is divided into three sections that cover the ecological and cultural aspects of Borneo, reveal the creative and production processes of the film, and immerse the audience in the filming atmosphere through never-before-seen photos and testimonials. Original documents, drawings, travel journals, sets, and figurines enhance this immersive experience.
