Kashi, conceived by choreographer Gauri Priscilla Brülhart to mark twenty years of her career, is a music-and-dance creation rooted in the Banarasi kathak tradition. Inspired by the luminous city of Banaras/Varanasi and the cult of Shiva, the performance blends rhythmic virtuosity, improvisation, narrative gesture and devotional intensity. A company of musicians and dancers trained with masters of the Banaras lineage explores the interplay between tala, melody and footwork.
