Sneers, an Italian duo led by Greta Blaankart (electric guitar, vocals) and Leonardo O. Stefenelli (drums), delivers an intense, melancholic odyssey through dark/occult rock. Their new record, (Don’t Quit Before) The Miracle, produced by Jamie Stewart (Xiu Xiu) and released on God Unknown Records, frames a possessed, atmospheric soundscape. Scène Vagabonde’s seventh edition brings a compact program of contemporary theatre and music, presenting three contrasting stage works — “Par le bout du nez”, “Quadrille” and “Prima facie” — alongside a concert by Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp as part of La Bâtie-Festival de Genève. Across intimate stagings the festival favors inventive direction, close ensemble interplay and a balance of wit and intensity, offering encounters that privilege physical presence, tonal variety and rigorous dramaturgy.

Part of the Sunday Concerts season, this open day invites discovery of the hall, its renowned organ and musical life through guided visits, hands-on workshops, historical dance initiation and a silent-film ciné-concert. The programme features actors and singers alongside instrumentalists: Antoine Courvoisier, Charlotte Filou, Julia Deit‑Ferrand (mezzo), Lysa Menu (soprano), Jean‑Paul Pruna (piano), Diego Innocenzi and Thierry Escaich (orgue), and lutenist Monica Pustilnik. Partnerships with ClassiCosy and Fêtes Costumées shape a convivial, tactile encounter with music and heritage.

Festival d’automne presents a programme of intimate organ and ensemble concerts exploring timbre, ritual and storytelling. Highlights include the electro-acoustic duo “Tuyaux et ondes” with Jacques Tchamkerten (ondes Martenot) and Vincent Thévenaz (organ), a narrated Mexican legend featuring Zeltzin Pérez and Diego Galicia Suárez, and a musical portrait celebrating Lionel Rogg with Anne Page, David Titterington, Alessio Corti and the choir Cantus Laetus led by Natacha Casagrande. The series favours reflective atmospheres and virtuosic instrumental colour.

22 September – 4 October

Directed by Nathalie Cuenet and written by Valérie Poirier, Dire adieu is performed by Compagnie Volodia. The piece stages fragmented conversations between a daughter and her mother, probing a quest for recognition and the fragile possibility of reconciliation. Its form recalls the codes of Greek tragedy, using heightened language and concentrated staging to explore memory, silence and unresolved grief. The ensemble creates a tense, intimate atmosphere that makes emotional rupture palpable.

Written by Stéphane Bouquet, Six heures plus tard is an intimate stage performance for two performers that explores the fragile bonds between a man and a woman through poetic text, live-filmed images, spare lighting and pared-down stage presence. The piece treats silence as a shared, collective resource and recomposes itself according to each venue’s architecture and the state of the bodies, creating an unusual proximity and contemplative atmosphere.
