End-of-Year Recitals — Geneva Jazz School

End-of-year recitals by the Geneva Jazz School present a sequence of student ensembles exploring contemporary jazz textures and improvisation. “Phèdre!” is a joyful monologue performed by Romain Daroles, who enthusiastically delves into the richness of Racine’s text and the elements of tragedy. Celebrated at the 2019 Avignon Festival, this adaptation inspires a love for language and a renewed interest in rediscovering this classic masterpiece. Designed and directed by François Gremaud, the show combines simplicity with passion, transforming the tragedy of Phèdre into a vibrant and engaging experience.

Led by the Geneva Chamber Orchestra, this series presents short, informal chamber programmes featuring flautist Eliane Williner and clarinettist Cindy Lin. The programme favors light, lyrical repertoire and intimate dialogues between instruments, inviting quiet attention and communal listening. Arrangements and subtle dynamics carve a gentle arc from reflective solos to warm ensemble passages; delicate timbres mingle with ambient outdoor air to create a restorative, conversational atmosphere. Presented in collaboration with a local botanical partner, the experience emphasizes presence and simple musical pleasure.

Cellist, singer and composer Ana Carla Maza unfolds a luminous musical world that shifts effortlessly between tenderness and intensity. With her ALAMAR Tour 2026 trio—cello and vocals, keyboards and percussion—she blends jazz, classical textures and Latin rhythms into a vibrant, energetic set that celebrates femininity and Caribbean heritage. The programme alternates intimate songs and spirited grooves, showcasing Maza’s lyrical voice, instrumental finesse and rhythmic drive.

30 – 31 May

Ritmo brings an electrifying club night led by Lil Drea in the main room, with sets from Krislise and Abalô. In the Void Room, BB2DESK and Bobby Melo deliver a raw bouyon-shatta atmosphere. The DJs navigate between Brazilian funk, bass-driven cuts, electronic textures and shatta rhythms, blending dancefloor energy with tracks that shift from percussive heat to deep low-end grooves. Expect layered mixes and dynamic transitions across two rooms.
