This hands-on, collaborative session invites families to explore feelings, spark creativity, and discover how words can comfort and connect.

FURTHER AFIELD

Build, program, and invent in hands-on workshops designed for curious kids. Work in teams to explore mechanics behind cable systems, then switch to coding with LEGO SPIKE Prime, designing simple video games in Scratch, and shaping worlds in Minecraft. You’ll prototype, test, and see ideas come alive through movement, color, and sound. Short challenges spark logic, creativity, and teamwork while playful tasks make learning about machines and code feel like an adventure.

Explore museum collections and discover how artists bring plants and flowers to life. Choose from leaves and other natural materials to press into soft clay and make your own prints. Feel textures, see bright shapes, and hear the gentle crunch of dried leaves. Shape your pieces, add colors, and watch simple marks become small stories. This creative workshop helps you notice nature’s details and use them to tell your own plant tales.

30 September – 31 January

Step into Euphonia, an interactive sound installation inspired by Hector Berlioz’s tale Euphonia ou La Ville musicale. Here you don’t just listen: you blow, build, play, probe and invent together. Along the route you create your own instrument before exploring a vast participatory organ. Sounds circulate, answer each other and meet to form a collective composition. No musical training is required — a playful sonic adventure to share with family.
